Careers / Open role

Data Engineer (m/f/d)

You own the data behind every decision in NYBA OS: ticket sales from the ticketing systems, campaign data from the ad platforms, attribution against real sales and the ticket forecast.

NYBA Media GmbH / Remote in the EU / English, German a plus

NYBA is the Revenue OS for live entertainment. The platform forecasts ticket demand for every show, runs campaigns on every channel that sells tickets, and measures every euro against verified ticket sales from the ticketing system. 75M+ tickets sold, 1,200+ events a year and clients such as Live Nation, Cirque du Soleil and BBC Earth.

Please note: our engineering team works in English. German is a plus, not a requirement. You should be based in the EU.

Your role

NYBA measures every euro of ad spend against verified ticket sales, not against what Meta, Google or TikTok claim. That requires a clean warehouse, reliable pipelines from ticketing platforms and ad APIs, an attribution model with control groups, and a forecast that tells a promoter what a budget will sell. You build and own that layer.

What you will do

  • Build and run the data warehouse for ticket sales, orders, campaigns and spend
  • Build pipelines from ticketing platforms (APIs, webhooks, exports) and from the Meta, Google and TikTok APIs
  • Implement attribution against real sales, including synthetic control groups and hold-out measurement
  • Build and improve the ticket forecast per event and budget
  • Make data quality visible: freshness, completeness, reconciliation against the ticketing system
  • Deliver the numbers for dashboards, monthly reports and billing
  • Work with the engineers who build the campaign engine and with the founder on what gets measured and how
  • Prepare the data foundation for NYBA's own models

What you bring

  • 4+ years as a data engineer or analytics engineer
  • Strong SQL and Python
  • Experience with a modern warehouse and orchestration, for example BigQuery, Snowflake or PostgreSQL with dbt and Airflow or similar
  • You have built pipelines from third-party APIs and kept them running
  • Solid statistics: you know what a control group is and when a lift is real
  • You care about reconciliation and would rather report a lower number that is right
  • You explain data clearly to people who are not technical
  • Fluent English; German is a plus
  • Based in the EU, remote

Bonus points

  • Marketing attribution or incrementality measurement
  • Forecasting experience, for example time series or demand models
  • Meta, Google or TikTok ad platform APIs
  • Experience with LLM-based tooling on structured data
  • Ticketing or live entertainment data

What to expect

  • Work directly with the Head of Engineering and the founder
  • You own the data layer; nobody else does
  • Market-rate fixed salary and a share in NYBA's success
  • Remote within the EU, with team days in Frankfurt
  • Twelve years of campaign and ticketing data to work with
  • International clients such as Live Nation, Cirque du Soleil and BBC Earth
  • Flat hierarchies and fast decisions
  • Flexible hours, extra holiday days, training and team events
